About Conference

The Rotaract District 7030 Conference is an annual event which invites the Clubs of District 7030 to a sister nation each year. It is the ultimate showcase for programs and projects underway in each of the Rotaract Clubs within our District.

District 7030 Conference 2018 will be held in Guyana, marking a long-awaited return to the Land of Many Waters. The Conference will be a four (4) day event from June 14 – 18, 2018 and will feature notable speakers, training, interactive sessions and memorable social activities. The event captures key Rotaract elements: professional development, networking, community service and fellowship; while providing a genuine Rotaract experience. You will benefit from:

  • General Assembly and Conference – Open to all Rotaractors to learn about new developments, new projects and develop skills necessary to build and enhance themselves as Rotaractors.
  • Daily Excursions – Offered to Rotaractors, families and guests and allows one to explore beautiful Guyana.
  • Evening Socials – Open to all and designed to promote great food, fun and fellowship.

About Guyana

Dubbed South America's best kept secret with 80% of the country covered in pristine rainforest, Guyana is every nature lover's dream. We are an amazing blend of the Caribbean and South America, bordered by Brazil to the south and southwest, Venezuela to the west and Suriname to the east.

We boast bountiful wildlife, numerous species of flora and fauna, incredible open spaces and savannahs that will take your breath away.

Our "Tea Spa" creeks and lakes are beautiful dark water bodies that get their colour from the leaves of the trees around. It's like swimming in a big bowl of tea - calming and therapeutic.

Our tropical paradise is the ultimate adventure and offers a rich history, the warmest and most hospitable people with the richness of many cultures. We are divided into three counties: Demerara, Berbice and Essequibo; four geographical regions: the highland region, the hilly sand and clay area, the low coastal plain and the interior savannah; and ten administrative regions enumerated 1 – 10.
You will be staying in Region 4 – Demerara-Mahaica. This region is home to our capital city Georgetown, also known as The Garden City.

We are the only English-speaking country in South America; however, widely spoken throughout the country is our very own Guyanese dialect called Guyanese Creolese. Our indigenous people speak many other languages indicative of their tribe such as Akawaio, Wai-Wai, Arawak and Macushi.

Guyana (formerly known as British Guiana) was governed by British monarchy, but we gained independence on May 26, 1966. We officially became a republic within the Commonwealth of Nations on February 23, 1970 and we are officially known as the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.

Our multi-ethnic society encourages us to celebrate festivities such as Masharamani, Phagwah, Diwali, Eid-ul-Adha, Christmas, Easter and many others.

Meet The Team Leads

To ensure that we give the best of our service for this Annual District Conference, we have established various committees with each having different responsibilities. The committees are comprised of a team lead and several support members. Should you require any information about a specific topic, you can contact the team leads for assistance. See their friendly faces below!
