Rotaract Club of Genesis – Public Speaking Project

We decided to have Public speaking at every 2nd meeting of the month.
We started in August of 2012. The first public speaking was on the 18th of August 2012 and the second was on the 22nd of September.
The first public speaker was prospective member Joseph Fabiola. She talked about her guitar and its elements.
She had eye contact with the public and they found it a nice topic. It was not boring.
There were also some suggestions. She could also use a PowerPoint presentation, so that it was easier to understand for the public.
The second public speaker was prospective member Misdjan Genevieve. She talked about World Youth Days: this is a project of the RK church. This is organized every two years. The public found also an interesting topic. Some suggestions were: to stand straight. She was too busy with her hands. And she should be well prepared before the presentation.
The main goal of this project is to develop the public speaking skills of our fellows especially the prospective members and guests. And to feel free to talk in front of a public audience that you don’t know, you have to start developing these skills in front of people you already know.
And at the end of every ‘public speaking’ we are give suggestion to them to let them grow in their public speaking skills.
